Harem Style

Standard

A few months ago I was getting out of the car after a not-so-exciting day in the office.  I was wearing some of my harem pants- a turquoise satin pair, to be precise.  These, to be exact.  As I was walking into the house, a car drove by, stopped, and reversed.  The window rolled down and this ecstatic voice says, “I know this is kind-of strange, but I have to know where you got those awesome pants.”  And that is how I met Whitley Hamlin, my neighbor, and fashion-blogger extraordenaire.  Whitley is the blogging queen behind The Queen City Style, and she is queen indeed of all things fashionable and trendy in Charlotte and beyond.  Whitley’s blog makes you want to get our your heels and go out on the town.  Or just play dress up.  Either way, if you are a fashionista in the slightest, you will love The Queen City Style!

So Whitley and I started talking, and the more we talked, the more we had in common. She told me about her blog, and I told her that we were just starting on our new clothing and handicrafts venture.  She had heard of Divali Glass Jewelry, my other creative outlet.  And we had mutual friends.  It was only a matter of time before we bumped into one another. We both agreed that it was a perfect match, and that the harem pants needed to make their debut on The Queen City Style! It was one of those kismet meetings.  So a few weeks later, Whitley came to our warehouse to see all of our colorful goods.  We played in harem pants, played in beads, played in our new shipments of clothes from Nepal, and generally had a good time.

I love a well-put-together outfit, and I love it even more when it shows some personal style.  So I was so excited to see how Whitley styled the harem pants!  Here’s a sneak peak.  But you have to See the whole post!   And if you like what you see, Follow Whitley’s blog. You will be inspired and entertained, I promise!

Talk about versatile clothing!  These pants are amazing!  Whether your style is black heels or birkenstocks, they will go with anything.  I am not one to walk into a department store and buy matching tops and bottoms.  No Ma’am.  My personal style is to throw together a little vintage, a little worldly, a little handmade, a lot of jewels, and maybe some green cowboy boots to top it off.  I am that girl wearing turquoise paisley print harem pants while pulling orders in the 100 degree warehouse.  No one to impress but myself, but that’s the way I roll!  So that’s why these harem pants are my new favorite item of clothing.  Feel like you’re in your pajamas, look like a million bucks!
